Project M6 is located in southern part of Sweden in the Smålandprovincenear the town of Kalmar. The repowering plan is in compliance with current building permit and has been approved by the Municipality.

Project M6 is located in southern part of Sweden in the Smålandprovincenear the town of Kalmar. The repowering plan is in compliance with current building permit and has been approved by the Municipality. Tower high had to be maximum height of 150m, and the project needed to be based on the old building permit.

Analysis

Can we tell something about the challenges surrounding the location or the project, for example the terrain (forest, mountain, sea?] A hybrid configuration of M6, including a 20m tower extension, has been developed and fully simulated. Due to wind turbulence, wind turbines are subject to unequal loads and stresses. These load variations repeated continuously over time (fatigue loads) have a negative effect on the structure of the turbine, which ultimately may cause component breakage. To predict the loads, we use the simulation code VIDYN, which ensure high quality state-of-the-art results.
